Any of you who have gone to the list of articles published online ahead of print by Global Change Biology will have found that we’re cursed with an abundance of research reports. How can we balance all that information?

One way is to seek literature reviews, and one publisher — Annual Reviews — is devoted to that end. Every year, reviews of the scientific literature attempt to present a synthesis of what’s been learned.

Three of these journals of annual review are most relevant to climate science. As I wind down, and as this list becomes increasingly redundant anyway, others may want to keep in mind these three journals’ schedule of publication.
